where are the best places for s4h or cu digital scrapbook stuff?

i'm doing s4h(scrap4hire) and i want to add to my kits. where are the best places to buy digital scrapbook kits that are s4h or cu ok? or even some places for some good freebies

Scrappy answers:

Www.digitalscrapbookpages.com has a great selection of S4H kits and CU stuff, too. When you go to this address, click on the Store link in the top toolbar, then look for Categories and click on that. Just about anything and everything you can imagine is in that list. Digitals also has a daily download and free samplers available. They also accept checks if you don't use paypal or credit cards, btw.

Linda asks…

I bought a digital scrapbooking program and I need to know if there is a place that will turn it into a book?

when I am finished making the book on my computer. I know other places online that require you to use their site to make the book. I just want to find someplace I can upload the one I make from Digital Scrapbook Artist to print out and mail me an actual book. Thanks in advance!

Scrappy answers:

I searched for 'print scrapbooks' at the Daisytrail community forum that supports your software. You may be interested to read their responses, or if your question isn't answered completely to ask a more detailed question there:

Looks like most people print out their work on photo paper and then bind it into a scrapbook themselves.

Sandra asks…

Can a boy make his own scrapbook?

my nephew is turning 11 in a few days and i am trying to think of present for him. i am thinking maybe a paint by number thing, scrapbook, photo album or something along the creative artsy side. do you think that a scrapbook would be ok for a little boy? or no?

p.s he has his own digital camera its old but works. he likes taking pics it would be a good place to show off his pics i think?

Scrappy answers:

When I was 11 I liked my photo albums that I used for collecting whatever - my photos, old paper money, stickers, etc. Everyone's different though. Times have changed too. Most kids do things digitally.

Paint-by-numbers could be seen as a bit childish (depending on the person). He may be able to paint without numbers.

Check out a big art store and see what they have. If you can't find anything, you could ask the staff for ideas.

Sharon asks…

What is the best way to categorise digital photos?

The problem that I have is that there isn't one framework to use for storing photos that doesn't overlap with another.

I'm not looking for a solution for online galleries as these are more like scrapbooks in which you create a topic and then add the photos to it from anywhere.

I'm talking about what structure works best for storing the originals. For example. Place, Event or People could be the primary categories.
If this was the case, how would you decide if a few photos of some close people taken in Paris should go in the places or people category?

What do you think? Thanks for your insight :)
To me the category shouldn't be by time because time doesn't have a direct meaning. What I mean is that everything is stored chronologically already and it doesn't make sense to have duplicate categories inside months or years. So if we assume that the primary category can't be time; then what would be the best category format to use.
An example is CATEGORY > SUB CATEGORY > GALLERY (Places > London > London Zoo 2005).
Hope that makes it clearer :)
Well, thanks for your answers! I do believe I have come up with the solution that will deliver the main objective which was to avoid duplication (I have been trying to work through this for days)!
I should like to make clear that categories to me are more important than timelines, I didn't want to duplicate folders/galleries in different years or months as within the categories the pictures would automatically be chronologically organised.
Anyway, the solution I have gone with is to have 4 main categories:
Trips & Travel
numerical date backwards - title - countries visited - monthyear
061124 ~ Paris with Lauren and Noelene - France - 06
060500 ~ Day Trip to Brighton - UK - May 06
051000 ~ Sightseeing Penang - Malaysia - Oct 05

Family, Friends & Events
_Snapshots (all the general items)
Snappers 21st - Oct 05
Around Home
_Snapshots
London Zoo - Nov 06
Madame Tusauds - May 06

Everything Else
Landscapes
Random
...continued...so the way I have decided delivers a non-repeating, easy to find and logical organisation structure for managing large numbers of photos.

I hope it helps someone because it took me an age to get there!
Just to clarrify because it hasnt' kept my formatting but the four main categories are:
1. Trips and Travel
2. Family, Friends and Events
3. Around Home
4. Everything Else

Scrappy answers:

Well for me, I categorize by Year / month then subfolders inside by People / Place and Occasion.
