About Journaling Topics

Ruth asks…

Journaling topics.....?

I want to start journaling with the teens that I work with in order to provide a place for them to learn about themselves and talk about situations/issues in their lives. Nothing too serious or formal. But..I don't know how to start it, what to focus on, and etc. Does anyone who journals or has someone journal at work have any suggestions for some journaling topics?

Donna asks…

What books are out there that don't give me the esthetics of journaling but great journaling topics and questions?

Scrappy answers:

Check out "At a Journal Workshop" by Progoff

Sandra asks…

Help me find specific journaling website/article?

Long time ago, I read an article, or maybe it was a whole site, about journaling.

But this was EXTREME journaling - literally writing down a chronicle of everything that happens to you in your life.

It covered everything, from using binders and notebooks, to chronological indexing by journaling topics.

I want to find that page but I can't - does anyone know about it?

Scrappy answers:

I don't know about THE page, but this one is awfully good advice about "normal" journaling practices:

Mary asks…

Any great positive experiences with pray rain journaling?

Hi im doing this thing called pray rain journaling, and ive been writing 10 or 20 pages with a drawing about a girl that i made up to be my perfect match, like green eyes, full lips, etc. and i wrote about what me and her would do, and the things wed have in common, howd we relate, the places wed go, the things wed do at the places, what wed say to each other, what our responses would be, Im a really good writer, and im very passionate about it, so i cant help to get into it.... but the point is if there is anybody that has or is doing the pray rain jounaling, and has a good review of it or experience of it and has had a number of their journaling topics come to reality, then please tell me them , thanks and god bless.....

Scrappy answers:

I've used a similar concept from Henriette Klauser--Write it Down Make It Happen [I reviewed the Pray Rain Journeling and it is the same]

I've used the technique several times:
#1. Wrote down the qualities I wanted in my future husband (95%) of the things that were on my list he has and we've been married 10 years
#2. Wrote down my perfect business (and found one that fits this year)
#3. We found 3 of our last homes--by writing down what we wanted.,

Success and well wishes with your writing and finding your perfect match!

Nancy asks…

Am I too old to read this book? It's a journaling book...?

I borrowed this book from a friend, It's called "Writing Down the Days."

http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Down-Days-Creative-Journaling/dp/1575420864/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216958858&sr=8-1

It's for young children to write, and I like some of these journaling topics...and I want to write about them in my personal journal. Am I too immature?
By the way, I'm 21 years old.

Scrappy answers:

Not at all....age is a state of mind....I say do what you want.....and **** everyone else :P
