Journaling Ideas

Donna asks…
Any visual journaling ideas?
I was planning to do a sillouhette of a man in grey and stencil the alphabet in black on top and put different pop art sayings like Bam and pow on it in neon colors. Do you likr the concept? Any other ideas?

Scrappy answers:
I like the idea. It might be cool if you cut out the face area. Make him faceless, being that he has no one label, but many. Many faces, or none.

Helen asks…
Hi. Does anyone know of any writing ideas for journaling, like a writing exercise done in therapy?
I've been having the same obsessive thought all day long and I can't seem to get away from it and focus on something else. I'm looking for any type of writing exercise, or a question I could answer, just something to get me writing and thinking better thoughts. Thanks~

Scrappy answers:
Make a list of words that are bad. Not curse words and define them from what you know.
Make another separate list of good words and define the, from what you know.
Each word that you write - check it if it applies to you. When done..check which words were checked the most out of the bads and good. I hope you get it. Or you can just write a list of all your insecurities and think on how you can overcome them. Or you can write a short story and give your characters the emotions you mainly have.

Nancy asks…
Any journaling ideas/topics for grades 1-8 piano students??
I teach an after school piano program for grades 1-4 in one class and grades 5-8 in two others. They need to journal at the beginning of class, we take 15 minutes. Journal topics don't always have to relate to music but I like to keep it in that area as much as possible. Ideas need to be age appropriate and comply with public school rules. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!!! I really like creative ideas, so do the students!!!

Scrappy answers:
Maybe you could play a different song every day and ask the students to write about how they could relate to the music piece

Jenny asks…
I think that I want to take up journaling as a hobby, are there any ideas as to what I could do with this?
I figured perhaps it could help enhance my creativity as an artist, what are some things that I could write about or put in the journal? I was thinking about newspaper clippings and pictures, etc What are some other ideas

Scrappy answers:
You could print out pictures online and journal about those. I like to use colored pens, and use them for different moods/feelings/days. I also like to put stamps in my journal (rubber stamps). You could write about something you own like say a favorite piece of clothing or a ring.

Scrappy answers:
Their bedroom
video games
pets
food - which would also serve a dual purpose to write down everything they eat in a day.

Maria asks…
I need some topics to journal about (free journaling), ideas?
I LOVE to journal. But, lately, I haven't found much to journal about and I hate writing down what I did that day, its SO BORING! I'm stuck with a tough writers block! Any ideas. Reasonable answers please, we ALL know that 'if i was a true journal writer i could come up with my OWN topics'. Please, I want to hear what you have to say.

Scrappy answers:
I suggest you do writing promps. For example, do your best dream that you ever had. Or other stuff that you find on the internet.
