digital scrapbooking freebies?
hi there looking for a branch/twig jpg of some sort to help make our Christmas cards this year. Any links to digital scrapbooking freebies would be great! thanks.

Scrappy answers:
You can use CropMom.com to create your Christmas cards.
CropMom is free to use. Upload your photo or photos, then use CropMom's graphics to create a digital scrapbook layout. You can choose from a variety of sizes.
CropMom lets you download the low-resolution JPEG of your layout for free. The high-resolution, which is suitable for printing, can be purchased for a small fee.

Maria asks…
A question about digital scrapbooking and using overlays.?
I really love the look of overlays however I am not sure how they work. I have downloaded various nice overlays from the freebies section for my own personal use and I can never seem to incorperate them onto my layout. What happens is whenever I move the layout on to my background it either turns completely black or white with black pixles around the lettering and is not transparent. I've tried everything I know how to figure it out and am still not getting anywhere. By the way I am using the old Photoshop 5.0.

Scrappy answers:
I don't think Photoshop 5.0 supports transparent .png files, which would explain why they're not showing up correctly. You can try a newer program. It doesn't even have to be the full-blown version of Photoshop. Photoshop Elements, Microsoft Digital Image Pro and Corel Paint Shop Pro are among the programs that support the kind of transparent .png files that are typically used by the major digital scrapbook kit designers to make overlays.

digital scrapbooking kits moved from windows pc to mac?
i have quite a bit of free kits that i have stored on my pc but we're looking to move to an imac and i want to know if i'll be able to use my kits on the mac. i didn't download the macosx portion on some of the kits [some offered that] and most of the links for the freebies i have, have now expired.

Scrappy answers:
I have a mac and scrapbook on it. My wife got a ton of kits from a friend with a PC and they worked great. I guess I'd want to know more about the "kits". If they are simply graphics files, like png or jpg, you will have no problems whatsoever. If there is an executable file (exe) you will need to install windows on your pc (which is easy, but does cost some cash). May I recommend using Apple's Pages for scrapbooking. I use PS Elements 6 for photos, but Pages for my layouts. I love it. Simple and powerful. Good luck!
I also have a tutorial on goscrappygo.com that shows me scrapbooking with Pages.
