Sandra asks…
is there a software that works like sure cuts a lot 2 with the cricut machine?
I hate having to pay so much for cartridges for my cricut cake and there are a lot of things I can't get at all, I did some research and found out about sure cuts a lot 2 but seems I am a couple weeks to late (sad I know) but I am hoping I can find something else to use with my cricut that allows me to use my own fonts and images.

Scrappy answers:
You can try the Design Studio. A lot of people have had success creating their own fonts and images with the pre-stored images.
You could also seek help on the Cricut Forums - someone there is bound to know!! Http://community.provocraft.com

Donna asks…
What font in the Cricut line will allow you to connect letters?
I just got a Cricut off of QVC and love it already, but wish you could have the letters cut so they are connected together as one word like the sayings that come with the cartridges. Do they make such a cartridge?

Scrappy answers:
As far as I know all the cartridges only have individual letters. Most cartridges offer some common words that are connected but you can't just do any word. I understand that there is another machine that is quite a bit more expensive that allows you to connect the letters as well as download fonts from your computer but I can't remember the name of it . . . Ah to dream . . .

What vinyl cutter do you use?
What do you like about it and what features does it have? I just got a cricut but I dont think it is what I really needed. I want to make long sayings and I cant do that easily when it has a mat to cut on. I want something not too expensive. Like $300 is my limit. I also need more than cartridges for fonts! 1 font for at least $30! No thank you. Please help. Thanks so much!

Scrappy answers:
Craftwell e craft cuts 12" by any length it cuts sheets or by the roll. It also cuts without a mat. You can buy it off ebay for $200. You can use sure cuts a lot and not have to buy cartridges. Sure cuts a lot runs about $80 i think. I am just learning how to use my e crafter. I also own 2 different types of cricuts and a graphtec.

Cricut vs Silhouette SD?
Which machine is better for graphics and font work, in your opinion? Apart from the fact that the Silhouette does not need cartridges, is there much difference between the two machines?

Scrappy answers:
I have just finished reviewing the Silhouette SD and you may find my reviews helpful. I compared the cuts between the Cricut and the Silhouette and the latter wins hands down. You can read about my reviews from the links below. The full review comes in 5 parts:

Ruth asks…
Scrapbooking ... what kind of personal cutter should I purchase?
My husband wants to buy me a personal cutter for my birthday, but I'm not sure which one I want. He wanted to get me a Cricut, but then changed his mind to a Xyron that hooks straight up to your computer so you don't need to buy cartridges, you can just use the fonts on your computer.
I'd like to know if you can recommend a personal cutter. Why would you recommend it, and pros and cons.
Thanks!

Scrappy answers:
The Cricut Expression is a good choice. There is also a cheaper version of it, but that one is limited in the paper size it will cut. The Cricut Expression will cut up to 12 x 12, which is great if you want to do large cutouts to run across a 12 x 12 size scrapbook page. However, it is expensive and you do have to buy cartridges, but it's definitely a time saver in cutting pieces together. It'll give you more time to focus on the creative stuff, like how to design the page.
