Want to make custom fabric, need to know if using an image for personal one time use is legal?
Ok I found this cool site that you can make custom fabric on. I wanted to have a specific theme for my son's b-day party...and they have no supplies out there that matches. I wanted to get 2 yards of fabric made to use as table covers at the party, with a picture from a kids book. I found the picture on the internet, and was going to make the material...then read there copywrite statement on the custom fabric page. They said it was up to the person who designed the fabric to know if the image is under copywrite.
Just curious since I am not going to make profit off of it is it ok to make this fabric? Thanks for any info!

Without the permission of the copyright holder, no, it is not legal. Nor would it fall under the educational provisions of "Fair Use". Call the publisher of the book and see if you can negotiate something.
